Team WorthAwhile visited Master Ayub's Park School in f6/3, Public park, Hill road. Mr Ayub is a retired inspector who has been serving the community since the last 28 years by teaching underprivileged children in a public park. There are more than 150 children studying there including students of Matric and FSC. When I went to discuss what WAW wanted to do for the children he welcomes us with open arms. So, After collecting a handsome amount of donations we begin to work. The children studying there are mostly who cannot afford studying in schools or afford buying books or stationery. We decided to get all 150 students basic stationery that includes erasers, sharpeners, pencils, stationery pouches, and all in one register English, Urdu and Math. First things first we got all the basic stationery and prepared 150 pouches and attached best of luck wishes with colorful ribbons. A little color never hurts. Secondly we rushed and got 150 all in one registers. All done with the goodies. Food comes next so, 150 boxes of food were prepared paired with some yummy mango juice. Like every event we planned out some activities and printed out some worksheets On the event day we reached Master Ayub's Park school around 4:30 and it was so amazing to see all the students studying there with full concentration. To start our activity we made groups and starting solving the worksheets with the children and unfortunately they were a bit to difficult for their age group. (My bad) But, still the children managed to complete them so, a round of applause? The children there were extremely well mannered and really active. They told us how much they love coming here to study and meet their friends. After some worksheets were done. we started face painting and distributing helium balloons. kids love them. They always do. seeing the colorful balloons made their faces light up with joy. After all the laughs and smiles. We distributed the food and handed over the goodies to Master Ayub the man himself. I remember Him telling us that he provides all the stationery and books all by himself and it was such a relief to him that we figured it out for him. The peace on his made made my heart warm up. It felt so great to help him out after all he is doing for us and this society it was the least we could do. He deserves a lot of love and appreciation. Saying goodbye is always difficult on such days and as much as everyone wanted to stay we had to leave because the kids had to study. I'll always remember this day. The best part was spending time with them and interacting with the children there. Let me tell you how well mannered and lovely they are with such bright smiles on their faces! It was heart warming to see all them working towards getting a better future and proving the fact that education matters.
