Team WorthAWhile's first event was a visit to Fareeda Bashir Gharana Trust in D13 Which is a home shelter for boys. Our team started to work and prepare for the visit a month before. Since it was the month of August which in other terms for students is 'Back to school' time. We gathered a suitable donation amount and bought School supplies for the Children there. The school supplies included Colors, Crayons, Pencils, Erasers, Sharpeners, scales, stationery boxes lunch boxes and water bottles for each child. Pretty much every thing a child needs to work at school. We wrapped them up in pretty gift bags with lots and lots of love! Finally the activity day came.

19th August 2018. The Worth A while team gathered before and planned out fun activities to spend our time with the children. We reached there at around 12 am and were greeted with so much enthusiasm and smiles. After all introductions we started the activities we planned. Our activities started with a drawing competition the topic was 'My future in my eyes' according to the topic the children drew and thought about what they want to be when they grow up and let me tell you that these children have big big dreams and InshaAllah they are going to achieve it. There was a child named Usman who wanted to serve for our country by joining Pakistan's naval force. He drew a really beautiful underwater scene with a submarine. It was so heartwarming to hear the dreams and aims of these children and watching them draw about it. After our drawing session we sat in a circle and the children read poems, naat and Recited the Ayat's from the Holy Quran. After that we had a face painting time and every child their face painted. We distributed the presents we brought for them and the smile on their faces was enough to make everyone happy in that room. Then it was the time to say good bye which made everyone pretty sad because nobody wanted to leave. The children were so amazing that I peronally wanted to spend more time with them. I cannot describe in words how I personally felt after meeting the children there. They are so talented and well mannered. I hope and pray that they have a Happy and healthy life ahead with lots and lots of success!
